Becca Calloway has Double-Double in Royal Win over Central

Senior Becca Calloway had 24 points and 10 rebounds in the 57-54 win over the Lady Jaguars.  Coach Rhett Rowell said, “the girls moved the ball well, made the extra pass and had the opportunity to get the good shot.”    Central had a slim lead in the first, then Jay came back by the half 29-24.  By the end of the third Jay had surged ahead 46-38.  Central Coach Keristen Wright stated, “we did some things right tonight and some things wrong, we were able to use the press effectively in the fourth and that brought us back into the game.”  During the last two minutes the game was tied up  and then both teams led, but as the buzzer sounded Jay had taken the lead back 57-54.

Scoring for the Royals in the win were: Becca Calloway -24 points, 10 rebounds; Tessa Hendricks -18 points, 10 rebounds; Hillary Hendricks -8 points; Emily Russell -5 points; Taylor Moore -2 points.

Scoring for the Lady Jaguars: Makayla Simmons 20 points; Sarah Forsythe 10 points; Haleigh Padgett 10 points; Natelie Jernigan 7 points; and Brittany Forsythe 6 points.

The Junior Lady Royals outscored the Junior Jags 17-11.  Scoring for the Royals: Paige Smith-8 points, Dana Blackmon -2 points, Morgan Kelley -2 points, Briston Campbell -2 points, and Hannah Prescott -1 point.

Scoring for the Jaguars were: Sarah Smith -1 point, Beth Smith -3 points, Hayley Gauthier -4 points, and Sarah Bone 3 points.
