Upcoming Star -Carissa Mulford
Carissa Mulford is a 7th grader at Jay High School. She is the daughter of Cheryl and Stewart Mulford. Carissa has been playing organized basketball since she was 8 years old. Carissa can’t remember a time when she wasn’t dribbling as she watched her “sissy”, Candace Mulford, practice.
Carissa played with the Jr. High Team at Jay High School this year and their record was 9-1. Carissa started with the Junior Varsity team as their season began. Midway through that season due to injuries on the Varsity team, Carissa was selected to move up. Moving from one team to another often happens in small schools and Carissa is honored to play for the Royals wherever she is placed.
Carissa plays AAU basketball with a local team comprised of girls from Santa Rosa County, the Barracudas’. She has also played on the Junior Varsity Volleyball team.
Carissa enjoys the sport of basketball, she also enjoys her teammates and the bus rides. Carissa plans on attending Florida State University upon graduation. She would love to go there on a basketball scholarship. To play on the court at FSU would be a dream come true for Carissa.
