Lady Jags Capture District Win against Paxton

The Central Lady Jaguars won big 43-42, beating top ranked Paxton in a district match-up Thursday night. “It was a real Barn Burner, my girls hit 8 of 10 free throws in the 4th quarter to seal the deal”, said Coach Keristen Wright.

Leading the stats for the Lady Jaguars was Sarah Forsythe. Sarah, a senior and leader on the team, scored 18 points, 6 assists, and 4 steals; Makayla Simmons – 10 points, 8 rebounds; Brittany Forsythe -7 points, 3 steals, Myranda Jernigan -6 points, Haleigh Padgett – 2 points and 9 rebounds.

When asked about how the team played Coach Keristen Wright stated, “The girls worked as a team, believed in themselves and what we are trying to accomplish as a team.  They never quit.”   Central plays next on Saturday night against Bethlehem for Homecoming.
