Royals defeat Baker
The Jay High Royals defeated the Baker Gators at home Tuesday night with a shot at the buzzer 45-43. Coach Lance Youngblood said,”I am proud of the boys, they are getting better every game and tonight was a total team effort.” The Royals led the entire game up until the last few minutes when the Gators made a comeback to tie the game. With only seconds left Eric Travino came down the court with the ball after a steal by the Royals and made a great right handed lay-up pushing the Royals to the victory.
Leading the Royals was Eric Travino with 17 points and he also scored the winning lay-up. Also scoring for the Royals were: Tyler Prescott -8; Todd Laney -7; Tate Upton -7; Brandon Boutwell -4; and Dalton Edwards -2.

The Junior Varsity was unable to contain the Gators during their contest losing 18-31. Scoring for the JV Royals were: Justice Garcia – 6; Dakota Cassidy -3; M Thomas -3; Holden McCaskill -2; Taylor Kelley -2; and Victor Mishoe -2.
