Charges filed in November Deadly Accident
In an accident that occurred on November 26, 2011 at 6:15 pm Logan Drinkard, driving a 1997 Ford collided with a 2006 Toyota Camry driver by Victor Bindi with passenger Germaine Bindi. Germaine was fatally injured in the accident. The accident happened on Hwy 98 and Twin Pines Blvd.
The Florida Highway Patrol has obtained warrants for the arrest of Logan Brooks Drinkard and Dennis G. Collier, on the charges of Racing, Vehicular Homicide, and Manslaughter stemming from the November 26th, 2011, crash that killed Mrs. Germaine Bindi. Subsequent investigation by the FHP Traffic Homicide Unit identified Collier as the driver of the GTO. Collier turned himself in to authorities at the Santa Rosa County Jail on December 29th and was being held under a no bond pending first appearance, afterwhich a bond of $250,000 was set by the judge.
According to the Florida Hwy Patrol, Logan Brooks Drinkard turned himself in to authorities at the Santa Rosa County Jail at 9 p.m. on December 30th,2011, he will be held without bond until first appearance on December 31st, 2011.
According to witnesses Drinkard was driving at a high rate of speed while racing a burnt orange, Pontiac GTO traveling eastbound on US Highway 98. Mr. Bindi was traveling south across the eastbound lanes of Highway 98 turning onto Twin Pines Blvd. Drinkard changed from the inside lane to the outside lane to pass a slower vehicle and struck Bindi’s vehicle.
