XC District Meet

The last season meet is Northview Tuesday, Oct. 25th girl’s race at 4:30 and guys to follow, both Central and Jay will be in the meet.

The Royals will host the District meet at Simms Middle in Pace on November 5 ^th at 11:30 and 12:15 for boys and girls.

The Lady Royals  hope to have 5 girls in the top 15. The top 13 individual runners and the top 4 teams will advance to Regionals which will be held in Lake City on Nov.12. From there the top six teams in the region will advance to the state which will be in Dade City on Nov.19th. The Royals advanced to state last year and became the top  public school in the state in class 1A. They were in 20 ^th overall in the state. The Royals Micah Kemp is the lead runner for Jay running in the mid 17’s, so he should qualify in the top runners to make it as an individual to regionals even if the team doesn’t qualify.  He’s only a 9 ^th grader, and has already run some of the fastest times in the area.  Last year he not only qualified to advance as an individual from district to regions, but qualified at regions in the top 15 to make it to state as the youngest runner to advance.  Great accomplishment!  I’m hoping to see a healthy team on the starting line.  Coach Teresa Hendricks’ expectations are to hopefully have enough to make a team to send to regionals.  We’ve had several sick this year with injury and sinus infections, so the goal is to have 5 on the line.  Those 5 runners are talented and if they run a good race will make it to regionals.
