Volleyball District Tournament Begins
Jay and Central will go head to head on Tuesday, October 25th at 4 pm. at Baker in District Volleyball. Central has defeated Jay twice in the regular season. Central has a Record of 12-7 with the District Record of 6-2. They are seeded Second. Jay has a season record of 10-8.
Sarah Forsythe and Myranda Jernigan are the two Seniors on the team who have been leaders on and off the court for Central. Sarah Forsythe is leading the team in total of 91 aces while Myranda Jernigan is leading the team with the highest serving percentage of 92%.
The Central Jaguar volleyball team has a team motto: “United We Stand Divided We Fall”. I think to have a successful district tournament we have to go into the district tournament united as a team and play well as a team.
Jay’s best player is Tessa Hendricks and behind her is Olivia Wright. “Neither one want to lose, so are the driving force behind our team”, said Coach Scott Campbell. If Jay can play at the top level of their potential they hope to be in the championship game.
