Make A Difference Day- Take Pride in Jay

Take Pride in Jay an annual clean-up and beatification day sponsored by the Town of Jay and is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 22 at 7:30 am. National Make A Difference Day is celebrated each year on the 4th Saturday in October.    Created by USA WEEKEND Magazine, it is the nation’s largest day of volunteering, thanks to the passion of millions of people like you.  A day of doing good. Together with long-standing partner HandsOn Network, the generosity of Newman’s Own and hundreds of carrier newspapers, USA WEEKEND rallies millions in a single day to help change the world.

The project at Jay will focus on cleaning the Town Cemetery and trimming the Crape Myrtle trees.  All volunteers are asked to be at the pavilion at the city park by 7:30 am to pick up assignments and tools. Volunteers are asked to bring rakes, shovels, gloves, weed eaters, etc. that will help with the clean-up. Councilwoman Jane Hayes is chairperson for the event. Join many of the citizens of Jay to Make a Difference  Today.
