Monarch Madness Butterfly Festival Photo Contest

The Panhandle Butterfly House, Navarre, Florida, is pleased to announce its second annual Monarch Madness Photo Contest.

For the contest, photos of North American butterflies, larvae, pupae and/or butterfly eggs may be submitted from August 12 through September 5, 2011.  Contest is open to ALL photographers, professional and amateur.  There are two entry categories: adults (age 18 and up) and juniors (age 17 and down).

There will be three prizes in each category: 1 ^st place a $75.00 check, 2 ^nd place a $25.00 check and 3 ^rd place a $25.00 gift certificate to Rob’s Camera shop in Pensacola.

Awards will be presented and photos displayed at the Monarch Madness Butterfly Festival at the Panhandle Butterfly House (PBH) on October 7 and 8, 2011, published in the Navarre Press on October 13 ^th , posted on the PBH website after October 13 and displayed in the PBH reception area for the 2012 butterfly season.

This year the contest will be totally run via the internet through the PBH website and email.

The non-profit Panhandle Butterfly House provides our area residents with a wonderful learning opportunity focusing on Florida Butterflies and their habitats.

Located at Navarre Park on Highway 98, the Panhandle Butterfly House is open this season from 10 am until 3 pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, through September 3.
