Jay Elementary students, teachers, parents, and principal, Danny Carnley – were OVERJOYED last spring when the Florida DOE informed JES fourth grade teachers of their FCAT Florida Writes Writing Scores for this school year. WOW!! Was it true? Yes, Jay Elementary School fourth grade students had the highest overall score in Santa Rosa County. Writing scores are graded on a scale of 1 to 6. Jay had several 4’s and 5’s. Out of 68 total students, 100% of them scored at 3 or above and 96% of them scored at 4 and above. Fourth grade teachers, Johnnie Carol Bryan, Carey Locklin, Donna Toyama, and Libby Wade are very proud of their students’ hard work. Fourth Grade – NUMBER ONE in the DISTRICT !!!!
