Santa Rosa County Commissioners Subpoenaed
Santa Rosa County officials and Team Santa Rosa have been subpoenaed to testify on Sept. 27 before a grand jury. The subpoenas include request for documents relating to the actions of former Rep. Sansom, Team Santa Rosa and various land and business owners. The subpoenas request documents relating to activity concerning the construction of a new courthouse and correctional facility. Team Santa Rosa is an Economic Development Council designed to increase the economic wealth of the county.
County Attorney Angela Jones had a scheduled appointment with an Assistant U.S. Attorney on the morning of August 23 at 10 a.m. At that time, she received two subpoenas, requesting a wide variety of documents dating back several years as part of a federal grand jury investigation. They did not indicate the nature of their investigation.
In addition, the Commission District 4 computer, which has been used by the current and previous District 4 Commissioners, was loaned to investigators. No subpoena was issued for the computer.
