Royal Night

The Royals from the Mini-Mites to the Jay High Varsity kicked off their season with scrimmages.  The winner of games were the fans.  Royal fans were enjoying the Mini-mites when a downpour stopped the community games.  The crowd huddled at various stands and then entered the high school gym until the weather passed.  During the exit from the stadium to the gym the crowd was exceptional.  There was laughter and courtesy.  Young people stepped aside for others to go ahead of them.  There was no pushing, shoving, trampling  only concern for all to reach a safe place.  After a short hiatius the games resumed.  Due to weather concerns the Mites did not play.  The Junior Varsity took the field then the Varsity played.  The cheerleaders performed between and during the scrimmages.
