JHS Class of 1961 Reunion

Jay, FL. –The graduating class of 1961 held its 50th class reunion Saturday July 23, 2011 at the Jay Community Center. The class had 63 original graduates. The classmates met at the Jay Historical Museum then after a tour went to the Community Center for fellowship and dinner. Pictured are 23 graduates along with two faculty members. The class has lost 15 members but has hosted reunions at least every 5 years since 1963 to help maintain a close relationship with each other. The organizers of the event had tables with memorabilia set up. One table honored those that had passed. Another displayed a timeline through the years of the reunions. Still another had a trumpet and other objects used during their school years. One faculty member stated that if he was cut he would bleed Royal Blue and White. This is a sentiment that resounded with all of the classmates. They are True Blue.
