Experienced Internal Medicine Physician, Cheryl Jeffries, M.D., Joins Baptist Medical Group

PENSACOLA, Fla. (April 15, 2013) Experienced internal medicine physician Cheryl Jeffries, M.D., has joined Baptist Medical Group’s growing network of primary care physicians serving the Gulf Coast. As part of Baptist Medical Group, Dr. Jeffries now welcomes new patients 18 and up at her office located at 1717 North E St., in Suite 222, on the campus of Baptist Hospital in Pensacola.
Described by her patients as a good listener, compassionate and straight forward, Dr. Jeffries enjoys getting to know her patients. “I wanted to be a physician since childhood. I chose internal medicine because of the daily variety and the reward of providing continuing care, and really getting to know my patients,” says Dr. Jeffries.
As an internal medicine physician, Dr. Jeffries has advanced training dedicated to the diagnosis of complex adult medical problems. She is experienced in the treatment of hypertension, diabetes, obesity and heart disease. Dr. Jeffries also has a special interest in promoting wellness and preventative care.
“I most enjoy educating patients about preventative care and wellness, and what non-pharmacological measures they can take to improve their state of health,” says Dr. Jeffries.
Dr. Jeffries joins Baptist from the Kernodle Clinic, a multi-specialty, physician-owned clinic located in Burlington, N.C., where she practiced internal medicine and served as partner. She earned her medical degree from University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, N.C., and completed her internal medicine residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.
Dr. Jeffries is excited to welcome patients as a part of the Baptist team. “I was really impressed with the people and the leadership at Baptist. I chose to join Baptist because I truly believe the culture at Baptist is one that puts the patient first,” she explains.
