Boy, is it hot!
While Florida and especially the panhandle is known for warm weather, it has been an unusually warm summer. Not only the temperature, which has been well over 100 degrees and even hotter with the heat index factored in, but the humidity has been brutal. Remember to take care of yourself, elderly in your neighborhood, and pets in these hot days coming up in July, August, and September.
(While the sun can be brutal, it does produce some magnificent rainbows through the rain clouds, like the one featured for this story. It was taken on Chumuckla Highway between Chumuckla and Jay.)
