Cooley Signs With Coastal
JHS senior Kaitlyn Cooley signed a golf scholarship with Coastal Alabama last week. While Cooley hasn’t been in the game for very long, her love for it and natural ability propelled her in a short amount of time.
“Just in the last two years, I fell in love with the game and haven’t looked back,” Cooley stated after her signing.
Being able to get the chance to play at the college level means much to Cooley, but she stated that she is equally as excited about the location of where she will get to continue her career. “Having this opportunity to play at the next level is such a blessing and I cant thank Coach Jennings (Coastal Alabama Golf Coach) enough,” she stated.
“Kaitlyn was such a joy to have as a player, even though it was just one season,” Jay’s golf coach Rhett Rowell stated. “She pushes herself to get better. I’m excited to watch her at the next level.”
When asked what the game of golf means to her, Cooley had this to say.
“It’s more than a sport. Golf has taught me discipline, patience and focus. Every round is a chance to improve and have fun. I love the thrill that it gives me.”
