Jags Fall to Royals
Friday-Jay (17-3) hosted Central (13-10) and defeated the visitors for the second time this season, 65-49. While Jay pulled away in the second half, the win was anything but easy as the Jaguars got out in front of Jay in the first quarter for an eight point lead. Head coach Jorey Diamond had to rely on his bench early and often as Jay’s Hattie Locklin was used sparingly and other starters found themselves in foul trouble late in the first half.
Senior Adyson Adams led the way for the Royals with 17 while both Aubreigh Nelson and Hattie Locklin added 10. Locklin would finish the night with a double-double, recording 12 rebounds.
Jay’s three seniors were honored before the game; Adyson Adams, Carleigh Baker, and Darcy Locklin.
“It was a great night to honor Carleigh, Darcy and Adyson and their hardwork in this program,” Diamond said after the game. “I thought Adyson Adams played great tonight. We did a good job in the 2nd half keeping our composure. I thought we played outstanding down the stretch.”
