Final Week of Regular Season Football
Friday-Well, another prep football season has come and gone. At least, the regular season. A huge rivalry game tonight between Pace and Milton and huge implications as Jay goes on the road to Uriah.
Jay (8-1) @ J.U. Blacksher (7-2)-Kickoff 7pm
The Royals have been playing lights-out the last three weeks, outscoring opponents 124-0. While three shutouts in a row are hard to come by, Jay’s defense has been playing solid all season long. The Royals’ stingy defense have five shutouts on the year and have only allowed 51 points all year. On the offensive side of the ball, Jay has racked up 308 points total for the season. However, those stats don’t mean a whole lot tonight. What’s at stake for the Royals (and Uriah for that matter) is playoff standings. Jay wants to position themselves to host one if not two playoff games and that starts with a win against the Bulldogs. After dropping two games in a row in weeks four and five, J. U. Blacksher has rattled off four wins in a row, scoring 50 or more in three of those. This should be a great game to end the regular season.
Last season Jay defeated J. U. Blacksher, 41-20.
Pace (8-1) @ Milton (0-9)-Kickoff 7:30pm
The records of this year’s rivalry game between Milton and Pace may not be as intriguing as games in year’s past, but it’s still Milton and Pace. Pace is playing really well and have won seven straight since losing to Catholic in week 2. Milton has struggled all season. The Panthers are better than their 0-9 record indicates as they have had chances to win a handful of games, but just couldn’t finish in any of them. Last week Pace defeated Navarre 35-7 and Milton fell 43-3 to Niceville.
Last season Pace defeated Milton, 27-7.
