Week 5…with picks!
Thursday night football! A battle of undefeated teams meet on Benny Russell Field in Jay on Thursday while a couple of winless teams meet in Milton on Friday. Meanwhile, Pace travels to Alabama.
Chipley (4-0) @ Jay (4-0)-Kickoff 7:00pm (THURSDAY)
Jay is coming off a huge 41-0 win over their rivals from Baker last week (2nd win in a row over the Gators). Chipley is coming off an 18-0 win over Vernon, a common opponent of the two schools. Jay defeated Vernon 34-0 in week 1. Jay has outscored their opponents 144-14, averaging 36 points a game and only allowing an average of 3.5 points a game (including two shutouts). This will be Jay’s toughest game so far this season.
Last season the two teams did not play.
Milton (0-4) @ Navarre (0-3)-Kickoff 7:30pm
Milton and Navarre are both searching for their first win. Last week, Milton lost to Tate 30-14. Points have been at a premium as Milton has scored only 35 total in their first four games. Navarre is coming off a 36-7 loss to Mosley last week. Those seven points the Raiders scored were the first of their 2024 season. Can one of these offenses make a statement this week?
Last year, Navarre defeated Milton 51-14.
Pace (2-1) @ Andalusia (2-2)-Kickoff 7:00pm
Pace is coming off a huge 55-0 win over Gulf Breeze as they travel to Andalusia. After losing their first two, the Bulldogs have won two in a row. Pace will bring their mobile quarterback run heavy offense to Andalusia and hope that they are able to control the line of scrimmage.
Last season, the two teams did not play.
