Royals Advance!

Thursday-The Jay Royals defeated the Central Jaguars at Jay in the semi-finals to advance to the District Championship, 63-58. In a packed John C. Smith Gymnasium, Ethan Mcdonald showed out and dropped 25 on the Jags to lead all scores.

This was the closest game between the rival schools all season. Jay won the first two meetings by 20 or more. The third attempt was almost the charm for Central. After only scoring 14 in the first half, Central exploded for 21 in the third quarter and 23 in the fourth, hitting 9 three’s in the second half. Central was able to get within three late in the game, but the Royals were clutch from the free throw line to ice the game.

Jay went 19/28 from the line, going 9/12 in the fourth.
