Gameday! Week 4…with predictions
Jay (3-0) @ Baker (0-3)—Kickoff 7:00pm
Jay is coming off a lopsided win over Franklin County last week where the Royals defeated the Seahawks, 41-18. Baker, on the other hand, is struggling, to say the least. The Gators have scored only seven points in two of their three games so far this season. The last time Baker started off 0-3 was in 2009, which was also the last time Jay won the rivalry matchup. While the Gators are struggling, the Royals are off to their best start since 2013. Can Jay improve to 4-0, which would be the best start for the Royals in over 20 seasons? Jay is also the only Santa Rosa County school that is still undefeated.
Last year, Baker defeated Jay, 28-0.
Crestview (1-2) @ Pace (2-1)—Kickoff 7:30pm
Pace is coming off a hard fought road win over West Florida last week, 24-21. Crestview got blown out last week by a much improved Choctaw team, 49-27. However, that is the same Choctaw team that Pace blew out in week one, 41-17. Pace is loaded with talent this season in all the skill positions.
Last season, Crestview defeated Pace, 29-21.
Gulf Breeze (0-2) @ Milton (2-1)—Kickoff 7:30pm
The Panthers host the winless Dolphins tonight in Haywood Hanna Stadium. Milton is coming off a 28-0 shellacking of Washington last week. It was the first game of the season the Panthers scored more than a touchdown. Gulf Breeze’s two losses came at the hands of Crestview (35-21) and Escambia (39-27). In both games, the Dolphins scored a lot of points and were competitive.
Last year, Gulf Breeze defeated Milton 35-21.
PREDICTIONS
Last week, northsantarosa.com went a measly 1-2, picking both Milton and Pace to lose. Pace came through late and Milton shutout Washington. Will this week be better in predictions?
Milton 30 Gulf Breeze 26—Home team wins this one as of late.
Pace 38 Crestview 17—This Pace team is talented and proved last week they can win the close one…this one won’t be close though.
Jay 20 Baker 18—Jay wins a close, hard fought match and gets a much needed victory over an old rival.
Northsantarosa.com is 6-3 on picks this season thus far.
