JHS Alum Sarah Edwards Going to US Open
JHS Alum Sarah Edwards has qualified for the U.S. Open. Edwards, a senior on the University of Alabama’s Golf Team, medaled in Atlanta at the Druid Hills Golf Club. Edwards, who was also on the SEC Academic Honor Roll for 2022, won the qualifying tournament in Atlanta with 69-68 score for the tournament.
Over 2,100 total entries to qualify were submitted to the United States Golf Association this year, with only 156 making the cut, Jay’s Edwards being one of them.
Edwards’ teammate at Alabama, Benedetta Moresco, from Italy, got second in the tournament and also made the cut.
The United States Women’s Open is scheduled for July 6th-9th at Pebble Beach in California. The 78th annual golf tournament will have players from all over the world competing for a share of a $10,000,000 total purse.
