Royals Softball and Baseball Advance to Championship
Tuesday-Both the JHS softball and baseball teams defeated the Baker Gators and advanced to play in both of their respective district championships. The Lady Royals defeated Baker by a score of 7-0 while the baseball team defeated the Gators 11-1.
The Lady Royals outhit their opponents 8-1, with Brett Watson leading the way with a 2/4 night. Jay’s Jenna Toups got the win, allowing only one hit and striking out 13.
The Lady Royals will now face Northview at Northview for the district title on Thursday at 7pm.

As far as baseball was concerned, the Royals exploded in the 2nd inning, scoring nine while hosting Baker in the semi-finals round, and never looked back. Tomas Ravendo had a huge night, going 3/3 while racking up 3 RBIs. Justin Smarr got the win for the Royals on the mount, striking out four Gators.
Jay baseball will also be facing Northview for the district championship. Baseball will be hosting this Thursday night at 7pm.
