Coach “Mac” Honored

Jay-This past Thursday, JHS principal Benjie West welcomed a couple hundred guests, made up of former players and coworkers, and family members to a ceremony dedicating the track at Jay High to be named after a beloved coach. After West welcomed the crowd, current girls track coach Stan Blackman read off Coach Mac’s accomplishments then members of the community were given a chance to speak. Former head football coach and coworker Elijah Bell spoke as well as standout runner Tiffany (Williamson) Sullivan, who went on to run cross country at Florida State. All who spoke mentioned Coach Mac’s willingness to go out of his way to help and lead in a way that only he could.
