Jay tops Freeport, 7-1

Tuesday-Jay (12-4) traveled to Freeport (5-8) and got a 7-1 win, leaning on the arm of freshman Landon Golden, who pitched a complete game in his first varsity start. Golden had four strikeouts on the night.

Nathan Smarr and Tomas Ravendo both had a big night for the Royals, going 2/3. Ethan Mcdonald, Justin Smarr, Freddy Carnley, Hayden Morris each had a hit while Levi Carnley went 2/2.

Jay jumped out early on Freeport, scoring 3 runs in the top of the first. The Bulldogs would answer back in the bottom of the 2nd, but Jay would add some insurance runs the last three innings.
