Lady Royals Tame Panthers
Friday-The Lady Royals (14-3) are back on a winning streak after traveling to Milton High (9-11) and defeating the Panthers, 46-28. It’s Jay’s second win in as many days.
Three different Royals hit 3’s in the first quarter to help get Jay to a 11-8 lead. Jay’s stingy defense held Milton to only five points in the second, giving Jay a 21-13 lead at the break.
“Great performance by our girls. Great defensive effort by Maddie and Carleigh,” head coach Jorey Diamond stated.
In the third quarter, the Lady Royals really caught fire, scoring 19, all by Carleigh Baker, Aubreigh Nelson and Kaylee Gilbreath.
“Aubreigh and Kaylee had a good game offensively,” Diamond continued. “Jaylen Routley and Georgia Lewis gave us great minutes off the bench.”
The Panthers 2022 season started off slow, but they came into this game winning six of their last eight games. “Milton has a good basketball team…I’m really happy for the girls,” Diamond concluded.
