Lady Royals Rout Gators
Thursday-The Lady Royals (13-3) traveled to Okaloosa County to face rival foe in Baker (7-6) and came back as victors, 56-22. Jay jumped out to take a 22-0 lead after the first quarter, abolishing the sting from the last two games where they lost to Paxton and Central last week.
“We played with much better energy tonight. Maddie Grimes and Carleigh Baker did a great job ,” head coach Jorey Diamond stated after the game. “Georgia Lewis had some big shots when we got in foul trouble”
The Gators would respond in the 2nd quarter, outscoring the Royals 15-7 but Jay would crank up the defense in the 2nd half, giving up only seven points after halftime.
Both Maddie Grimes and Presley Hawthorne scored nine each, leading the way for the Royals. Every player on the roster scored for the Jay.
