Lady Jags Top Royals
The Lady Royals (12-3) stumbled on the road at Central (9-7) on Friday night, 44-36. A slow start stymied the Royals as Central jumped out to a 14-8 lead in the first quarter. The Jags’ connected on three 3 pointers in the first. Jay would out-score the Jaguars in the second quarter to pull within 5 at halftime.
“We got outplayed and out-coached,” head coach Jorey Diamond stated. “Central wanted it more and they deserved the win.”
Central would extend their lead in the third quarter, outscoring Jay 12-5. Down 31-19 at the start of the fourth, the Lady Royals did stage a rally, scoring 17 in the last quarter of play, but it wouldn’t be enough as Central made the most of their free throw attempts. The Jags went 9/15 from the charity stripe.
