Lady Royals Bounce Back

Friday-Well, it’s been a busy week for the Lady Royals, now 7-1. The week started off with the Lady Royals being ranked #1. Let that sink in…a team that starts 8th graders playing well enough to be ranked top in the state. Then on Tuesday Jay took care of district foe Paxton. A very talented Pace came to town on Thursday and gave Jay their first loss. And to end the week? Rivals from Okaloosa County made the trip to John C. Clarence Gymnasium. If anyone was concerned about how this young team would respond to an emotional week, they got their answer tonight.

“Great bounce back tonight,” head coach Jorey Diamond stated after the game. Jay jumped out on Baker in the first quarter, only allowing two 1st quarter Gator points. The Royals’ defense did let up a little in the 2nd quarter…allowing 3 Gator points. Jay had a commanding 26-5 lead at the half and never looked back.

“Great night from our bench. Georgia Lewis and Audrey Bodiford had some big threes and Presley Hawthorne scored thirteen in just a half.”

Nine Lady Royals made it in the scorebook.
