Lady Royals Cruise over Crusaders

Monday-The Lady Royals traveled to Pensacola Catholic High School on Monday night and won their 3rd straight to start this early 2022 season. Jay (3-0) jumped out all over Catholic early on and never looked back, holding the Crusaders scoreless in the first quarter.  “Outstanding defensive effort led by Kaylee (Gilbreath) and Hattie (Locklin),” stated head coach Jorey Diamond.

Eighth grader Presley Hawthorne lead all scorers with 14, half of which came in the first quarter. “Presley got us out the gate fast tonight,” Diamond added. “Aubreigh Nelson continues to be our most consistent performer.”

As usual for this group, scoring was spread throughout the roster of underclassmen; seven scored in all.

Up next for Jay is a trip to Defuniak Springs to take on Freeport today (Tuesday).
