North Santa Rosa

Final Week…with predictions!

Wewa (5-4) @ Jay (4-5) – Game time 7:00pm

Jay is coming off a 41-20 loss to J. U. Blacksher in a game that the Royals had trouble getting stops. The Bulldogs ran up and down the field against the Royals’ defense. Enter Wewa, a team that also likes to run the ball and has had success this year doing it. Can Jay’s defense get some stops this week? Motivation should not be an issue as it is the Royals’ senior night and Hall of Fame induction night, not to mention the Royals are playing for a chance to finish with .500 record. Merle V. North Stadium will be packed.

Last year the two schools did not play.

Milton (2-7) @ Godby (2-7) – Game time 7:30pm

Milton is traveling to Tallahassee to take on an opponent with the same record as they have this week. The Panthers are coming off a loss to Pace last week and are looking to end a disappointing season with a win. Milton is looking to end the current 3 game losing streak that they are on. In each of those last three games, the Panthers were competitive for the first two and a half quarters, but couldn’t finish. Godby has had trouble scoring all year. In 6 of their 9 games thus far, Godby’s offense has scored 14 or fewer points.

Hollis Christian Academy @ Pace – Game time 7:30pm

Pace is riding high off a win over rival Milton last week, 42-35. Winners of 3 of their last 4 games, the Patriots are eyeing a spot in the playoffs. Not stubbing their toe this week against a weaker opponent is paramount in playing in the postseason.

PREDICTIONS

Last week, northsantarosa.com went 1-1 on picks, picking Pace and Jay to win. The overall record is a solid 16-8 on the year for picks.

Milton @ Godby-The Panthers have not had trouble scoring this year and Godby has. Additionally, Godby’s defense has given up 40 or more points in 7 games thus far this season. That is the difference this week. Milton 49 Godby 12

Hollis Christian Academy @ Pace- Pace really big. Pace 52 Hollis 0

Wewa @ Jay-Wewa is on a 2 game winning streak. Jay had a tough October schedule (Northview, Baker, J. U. Blacksher) and has not physically won a football game (Graceville forfeited) since September (9/30 vs. Destin). The big question is, where is the mindset for the Royals? Are they focused enough to win their season finale? We say yes. It will be a charged crowd in a packed Merle V. Jay takes care of business and finishes with a break-even record. Jay 34-Wewa 16
