“Mid”-week report with Coach Brian Watson

Jay is traveling to Uriah this Friday night to face J.U. Blacksher.  Northsantarosa.com caught up with head coach Brian Watson to talk about the Royals’ football team.

Q-Is the Graceville game a forfeit officially? Will it be made up?

A-As it stands right now, it is a forfeit on their part. It may get made up, but we’re running out of time.

Q-Tell us about this week’s opponent…

A-J.U. Blacksher is a solid team. One of the best Uriah teams I’ve seen. We’ve got to get stops on first down, defensively. They run the ball, control the clock. Very much like us.

Q-What has the last week been like? With the cancellation…

A-It has been weird. Already strange last week because we were playing a Thursday game. Then with it being cancelled the day of…it just was just an odd feel to end the week last week.

Q-How’s this week of practice been?

A-Good week of practice. Boys focused on this week’s assignments and opponent.

Q-What’s the playoff standings look like?

A-Were currently 6th in the region, which means we’re in. So the next two weeks are critical. Our mindset is, “Win and we’re in.”
