Gameday-Week 7…with predictions
The “War on Highway 4”- Baker (4-2) @ Jay (3-2)-Game time 7:00pm
Jay hosts rival Baker tonight in a much anticipated matchup. Both Jay and Baker have first year head coaches in Brian Watson and Barry Gardner. Jay is coming off a 25-6 homecoming win over Destin High School while Baker is coming off a 48-7 win over Lighthouse. The rivals have one opponent in common and that is Destin. Baker defeated the Sharks 34-0 in week 2. Get ready for a run-heavy game as both sides will try and pound the other with the running game and control the clock.
Last year, Baker defeated Jay 35-6.
Pensacola (0-5) @ Pace (3-2)-Game time 7:30pm
It’s homecoming at Pace tonight as they host winless PHS. The Patriots are coming off a rough couple of weeks, losing to Crestview and Gulf Breeze. While both loses for the Patriots have been close, Pensacola has lost it’s last 3 games by over 4 touchdowns.
Last year, Pace defeated Pensacola High, 38-13.
Milton is open this week.
PREDICTIONS
It has been 13 years since Jay has defeated Baker. Obama was president and the all-time leader in JHS wins Elijah Bell was roaming the sidelines for the Royals. Can Jay take care of business tonight? They appear to be poised to be able to move the ball and be the more balanced football team. But, do the Royals believe they can beat the Gators though? That will be answered Friday night. With all of that being said, Northsantarosa.com does believe. Jay 32 Baker 30
Pace and PHS will be over by halftime. Pace has lost two in a row, but it won’t matter. They’re much better than Pensacola. Blowout. 56-3 Pace.
Northsantarosa.com went 3-0 in picks last week! Record thus far is 8-6 in picks.
