Royals Cross Country Update
Congratulations to the boys’ team for winning the meet at Central on Wednesday.
Jody Godwin led the boys’ team placing 3rd overall with a time of 19:07. Followed by other top scorers 4th place Athan Peterson 19:40; 5th place Ramsey Reaves 20:15; 7th place Kenneth Garcia 21:22; and 11th Mason Tutt 21:37. Other finishers for the boys were 15th Avery Wayland 22:27; 20th Eric Zhuo 23:21; 22nd Cooper Harrison 24:04; 23rd Braydon Nowling 24:55; and 24th Ryan Kelley 27:04.
Captain Chance Thornton has been battling shin splints so he’s taking some time to recover with the proper therapy to prepare for the District meet.
For the Lady Royals Leah Smith led the girls team finishing 6th overall with a time of 25:49. Other team scorers were 7th Linda Slade 26:15; 8th Lexie Smith 26:15; 13th Katelyn Harrison 28:11; and 13th Madilyne Saye 31:45. Other finishers were 16th Hannah Zhuo 31:49; 18th Trinity Slade 34:38; and 19th Ariana Garcia 35:32. The girls’ team placed 2nd for the girls race.
The Running Royals are heading to Baker early Monday morning for the Baker meet at Ropin’ the Truth Ranch.
