North Santa Rosa

Week 6: With Predictions

Destin High School(1-3) @ Jay (2-2)-Game time 7:00pm (Homecoming festivities start at 6pm)

Jay is coming off a really good 2nd half against Holmes County…the problem is that the Royals had a really bad first half, defensively. “We made some simple adjustments and didn’t quit last Friday. I’m proud of that,” Jay head coach Brian Watson said. Jay did win the second half against Holmes, but suffered their second loss of the season, 42-23 to the Blue Devils. But, the Royals are undefeated at home this year and this is homecoming! Destin High is a first year program, but has a full roster and is playing well to be a first year team. Destin is coming off a loss in a defensive game to Lighthouse Christian, 8-7. The week before they lost in overtime to Rocky Bayou, 28-22.

The schools have never played.

Tate (1-4) @ Milton (1-4)-Game time 7:30pm

Milton is struggling right now. The Panthers are coming off a 41-0 shellacking at the hands of Escambia last week. Tate lost last week, 38-20 to Navarre. Two very different offenses will be on the field when the Aggies and Panthers play.

Last year the two schools did not play.

Gulf Breeze (3-2) @ Pace (3-1)-Game time 7:30pm

Pace is coming off an the worst kind of off week…that is, they lost right before the off week. Gulf Breeze is really good, winning 3 of their last 4 and only losing by a combined 9 points in their two losses. Pace is entering the toughest part of their schedule.

Last year Gulf Breeze bested Pace, 42-14.

Predictions

Destin@ Jay-Jay is hosting the Destin Sharks this Friday for the Royals homecoming. Destin is not a bad squad and they have good football players…but the last time Jay lost a homecoming game? You  have to go back to the 2010 football season. Jay wins this one, pulling away in the second half…36-24

Tate @ Milton-It looks like it could be a long year for Milton. The Panthers need to win this one because the schedule doesn’t let up after this; next week they travel to Navarre, then Crestview, before hosting rival Pace. Milton wins a low scoring game, 17-14.

Gulf Breeze @ Pace-This game is not as close as the records would indicate. Pace is playing at home, so that’s good for a few points, but Gulf Breeze is really good. The Dolphins will get the win, 37-13.

Northsantarosa.com is 5-6 in predictions so far this season.
