Royal’s Race Recap from Saturday, 9/4:CC 2CC 3CC 4

The Running Royals showed up at the Pace Patriot Invitational ready to compete. Twenty-three schools were represented from across Northwest Florida for the early Saturday morning meet. In the Boys’ Varsity race the top five scorers for the Royals were Chance Thornton who led the pack. The next three Royals came in back to back, they were Jody Godwin, Athan Peterson, and Ramsey Reaves. Fifth for the team was Kenneth Garcia. The Royals 6th, 7th, and 8th runners were Mason Tutt, Eric Zhuo, and Cooper Harrison. Overall the boys improved their team average from their first meet. Some ran personal best times. In the girls’ Varsity race Leah Smith led the Lady Royals and was followed by her younger sister Lexie Smith. The third runner for the Lady Royals was Linda Slade, followed by Katelyn Harrison and Madilyne Saye who were the top 5 scorers for Jay. Other Lady Royals finishers were Hannah Zhuo, Trinity Slade, and Ariana Garcia. Three Lady Royals had personal best times. The ladies improved their team average from the first meet. In the Boy’s JV race Avery Wayland led the boy’s JV team, followed by Nathan Smarr, Braydon Nowling, and Ryan Kelley. These four are showing improvement in their times as well.
