State Champs

Claremont-Minutes after winning his first state championship told WPFL’s Larry White, “It sure feels good to win it in the blue and white!” In Watson’s fifth trip to the state championship in the last 10 years, the Lady Royals won the school’s first state championship in softball. It also marked the 19th straight win for the Royals this season, but it wasn’t easy.
Jay scored 5 big runs in the bottom of the fourth, but Fort White picked up 2 runs in the 5th and 3 more to tie in the sixth. Tied up in the bottom of the sixth, the Royals scored one to get the lead back and bring home the championship.
