Week 1…It’s finally here!
After much debating, football season is finally here in Santa Rosa County! Even though the teams in Santa Rosa have had the ability to practice for the last 3 weeks now, Hurricane Sally limited the time these teams have had to prepare for their week 1 opponents. Be that as it may, the players and coaches are excited and ready to go this Friday night!
Flomaton (4-0) @ Jay (0-0)-7:00 pm
-Flomaton obvious has an advantage in this one, having over a 40 practice advantage over the Royals. Be that as it may, Jay is ready to play and try and break the school record Melvin Kersey and the Royals set last year, making a 3rd consecutive playoff appearance last season. Jay lost several key starters from last year’s team, including quarterback Judd Smith and leading receiver Brenton Eister. Also, two way starter at full back and linebacker Connor Roberts is gone as well. However, the Royals do return all of their offensive line except for strong side tackle Jarret Watson, who graduated as well. Look for a Jay to control the clock while getting a feel for this 2020 season.
