Royals Top Bobcats! District Champs!
Jay-It was one of the of the best girl’s basketball game ever seen at Jay High School. In front of a packed gym, the Lady Royals won their second district championship in a row under head coach Brian Watson. In doing so, Jay avenged two earlier season losses to the number one seeded Paxton Bobcats. Down by 3 with just over 3 seconds left, Jay’s Allie Odom found junior Carsyn Seib who, with a Bobcat defender in her face, stepped back behind the three point line and fired up a desperation shot that hit nothing but net. The Lady Royals then took care of business in overtime, defeating Paxton 59-56.
Jay will now host Ponce De Leon on Thursday night at 7pm.
