NASA Astronaut Comes to Jay Public Library

Dr. Don Thomas NASA Astronaut came to the Jay Public Library on Tuesday to share his experiences with kids.

Dr. Thomas was turned down three times by NASA but worked hard and never gave up on his dreams. Dr. Thomas flew on the Columbia and Discovery missions. Students were able to get to know Dr. Thomas and take pictures with him after he explained what it was like to be in space.

Students were able to touch pieces of mars and look at pieces of the moon and enjoyed stories of the difficulties of eating and using the bathroom in space.
