Roberts Named Jay’s New Baseball Coach

Mike Roberts has been named Jay High School’s new baseball coach. At the end of the 2019 season, long-time head coach  Jorey Diamond stepped down after a district championship season where he lead the Royals to the regional championship game.

“We are very happy to announce Mike Roberts as our new baseball coach here at JHS. We are very excited about the future and what Mike brings with his experience,” stated JHS’ Athletic Director Lance Youngblood. Roberts was introduced to the current JHS players on Wednesday.

The Royals didn’t have to look far in hiring Roberts as he has been the head coach at Central High School for several years. Roberts brings several years of head coaching experience to Jay including 6 playoff appearances at Central and a trip to the FHSAA Final Four in the 2016.
