Lady Royals Survive in Overtime/Boys Fall

The Lady Royals took Flomaton’s best shot on Tuesday but were able to survive in overtime, 57-53.

Down by 2 with nine seconds left in the fourth, Jay was fouled. After missing both free throws, Jay’s Madison Mathis was able to get the rebound on the second miss and scored to tie the game. Flomaton had a chance to win the game on the ensuing possession when they were fouled, but they too missed their free throw, a front end of a 1 and 1. In overtime, the Lady Royals (20-2) jumped out on the Canes and never gave up the lead. Madison Mathis lead all scores with 22.

Next up, Jay hosts Lighthouse Christian on Thursday.

Boys

Flomaton came out and got hot behind the 3 point line in the third quarter to distance themselves from the Royals. Blayne Miller lead the Royals with 20.
