Royals win homecoming!

On Friday Jay jumped out to a 24-0 lead on the Freeport Bulldogs, but then had to hold on for dear life to get the win. The Royals had a 24-6 lead at halftime and opened up the half with a quick touchdown drive making the score 30-6. But then the Royals couldn’t get out of their own way. Fumbles and missed tackles almost doomed the Royals as Freeport took over on a turnover on downs. After a 45 yard pass play to get the Bulldogs to the 15 yard line, the Bulldogs spiked the ball with 15 seconds left. After a holding call backed up Freeport, the Bulldogs were picked off by Trace Seib with six seconds left, leaving the final score 30-26.

Jay, now 4-4, hosts Lighthouse Christian next Ftiday at Jay.
