PNJ All-Area…

Every year the Pensacola News Journal announces and recognizes an all-area team for both softball and baseball. The Jay area had four recognized for their respective sport.

Brian Watson, JHS’ Head Softball Coach was named the Pensacola News Journal Coach of the Year. Leading his Lady Royals to another district title this year, Watson’s Royals lost to eventual state champs (Wewa) 2-0. This is the second time Watson has been named PNJ’s coach of the year.

Alyssa Baxley, a junior, was named as the utility player on PNJ’s 1st team.

Allana Lowery, only an 8th grader, received second team honors as an in-fielder.

Trace Seib, only a sophomore on Jay’s baseball team, was named as the designated hitter for the first team for the PNJ All-Area Baseball Team. Seib was the only sophomore to be named on the PNJ All-Area First Team.

Congratulations to all the Royals on being recognized!
