Fruit trees class for homeowners

Experts from the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences Santa Rosa County Extension Office will offer a free class on fruit trees for the homeowner on Friday, April 13 at 10 a.m. at the Santa Rosa County UF/IFAS Extension Office, 6263 Dogwood Drive in Milton.
Florida Master Gardener Sam Greendorfer will teach students how harvesting fresh fruit from backyard trees can be a satisfying experience. Students will learn which fruit trees are best for this area, the importance of both chill hours and cold hardiness as it pertains to citrus and deciduous fruit, proper pruning and pest management.
