JHS Drama stuns on Opening Night
JHS Auditorium- Friday night was opening night for JHS’ Drama showing of the popular musical, “Into the Woods.” In fact, it was the first showing of any play at JHS in quite some time. This year, Jay High School has resurrected their drama club in a big way. A packed auditorium in Jay tonight were entertained by a fantastic group of teenagers that looked nothing like a group putting on a play for the first time. The cast, led by Brynn Burgess as the witch, looked calm, cool, and collective and awed an audience that in return gave a standing ovation at the conclusion of the performance.
The story itself combines several of the storybook tales into one wonderful yarn that is full of wit, great music, and fantastic acting. At the beginning of the evening, Brooke Steele, sponsor of JHS Drama Club, thanked all of the parents of the students, the sponsors, and reminded those in attendance just how fortunate the people of Jay are to have a beautiful and historic auditorium to be able to come together for such an event.
If you missed it, the second and final showing is tomorrow, Saturday November 18 at 7pm.
Admission is $5.00.
Doors open at 6pm.
