Royals’ Cross Country Results

ROYALS COMPETE AT LAKE JACKSON (AL.)
The Jay High Boys Cross Country team finished 3rd out of 10 competing schools last week at the Paxton High School hosted meet in Florala, Alabama. Senior, Austin Gonzalez, led all Royals with a time of 20:01 and finishing 6th overall. Other Royal finishers were: Chance Thornton (11th-20:52), Jodi Godwin (21st-22:53), Austin Lang (25th-23:24), Jacob Gonzales (52nd-25:40), Jimmie Ates (63rd-26:24).
Boys Team Scoring:
WALTON COUNTY (43), PAXTON (46), JAY HIGH (115), ROCKY BAYOU (140), ANDALUSIA HIGH (142), BAKER (152), FREEPORT (160), PLEASANT HOME (221), CENTRAL, FLORALA.
The Lady Royals Cross Country Team also finished 3rd out of 10 schools. Jillian Thornton was first for the Royals and 2nd overall in a time of 22:34. Hannah Whitlock was on her heels finishing 3rd overall in 22:58. Other Lady Royal finishers were: Carson Arrant (19th-26:47), Emma Barrow (22nd-27:16), Grace Gillman (25th-28:26), Brett Watson (37th-30:33), Hannah Kersey (43rd-31:51), Kalista Hamilton (58th-37:28).
Girls Team Scoring:
BAKER (46), ROCKY BAYOU (64), JAY HIGH (71), PAXTON (122), PLEASANT HOME (145), WALTON COUNTY (154), CENTRAL (183), ANDALUSIA HIGH (239), FLORALA, FREEPORT.
Both Jay High Cross Country teams will compete today in a weekday meet hosted by Freeport High
