Jay High FFA scores Big at State

High School FFA Successful at State Convention.
This week at the Florida FFA State Convention, in Orlando, the Jay High School Chapter was represented very well and was recognized for many accomplishments.
Amanda Hachtel had advanced to state in the Creed Speaking Leadership Development Event. This contest began back in December as she competed in local preliminary events. She then competed against the top 12 speakers in the state on Monday, and ended up bringing home a 3rd place trophy for the chapter.
Ally Ashworth and Amanda Hachtel represented the Jay FFA Land Judging team on stage to receive their trophy for placing 5th in the state at the contest this past March, which was held in Plant City.
Madelyn Godwin also received the highest honor the State FFA Association can bestow upon its members, the State FFA Degree. This honor requires much devotion to the FFA Organization throughout one’s high school years and is only received by 1% of members in the association.
