Santa Rosa County Federal Credit Union raises $2,500 for local charity, Vision of Hope.

Tuesday, May 9, 2017, Steve German, the Credit Union president, presented Jane Simmons, the founder of Vision of Hope, with a giant check for $2,500. The funds were raised by selling candy bars at the Credit Union’s 5 locations. “In addition to candy sells,” said German, “our staff donated their own money to bring the total to $2,500.”
Vision of Hope is a local charity that donates their resources and time to teach intellectually disabled individuals life-skills with a goal toward independent living. There is a huge emphasis on money management, mathematics, and social skills. These students also have their own band, garden and host monthly activity nights throughout the year.
“Words can not express how thankful we are for the continued support of Santa Rosa County Federal Credit Union,” says Jane Simmons. “Not only do they sponsor several activity nights every year and volunteer their time but they hosted a candy bar fundraiser for Vision of Hope! Yesterday, their sweet staff toured our facility and presented us with $2,500! This was a combination of their fundraiser and personal contributions! Thank you so much for thinking of our organization, Santa Rosa County Federal Credit Union!”
