Nancy Sue Shivers

Nancy Sue Shivers, age 70, passed away Friday, November 11, 2016 at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. She was born November 3, 1946 in Brewton, Alabama. Nancy was a long time resident of Jay and a member of the Flomaton Church of Christ. She was very active in her church and all community and school athletic activities.
Nancy is preceded in death by her brother, Marcus Dobson and sister, Kayellen Dobson.
She is survived by one daughter, Karla Shivers and wife Brenda Grimaldi; two brothers, Gary Dobson and wife Patsy and Rick Lowery and wife Jenny; sister-in-law, Drusilla Dobson; special nephew and niece, Bradley Lowery and wife Bridgette and Sydney Lowery and her fiancé, C.J. Nowling; lifelong friends, Lillian Ward and Brenda Watson; special friends and caregivers, Pat and Linda Jarvis and Nicki Diamond; and numerous nieces nephews and other extended family.
A time of visitation will be held Monday, November 14, 2016 in the chapel of Jay Funeral Home, 3853 Highway 4, Jay, Florida 32565, from 6 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Jay Funeral Home beginning at 11 a.m. with Ministers Bryan Cook and Pete Davis officiating. Those serving as pallbearers will be Cary Upton, Brian Watson, Darren Dobson, Jorey Diamond, Hayden Hammonds, and C.J. Nowling. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Watson, Thomas Rowland, Ronnie Hammond, Billy Kelly, Guy Waller, Ron McDaniel, and Speedie Nelson. Committal services will follow at Jay Cemetery.
